Better Late than Never?

I realized today that it has been just over 5 weeks since my last day of work and my promise to many of you to create a blog has yet to come to fruition.  While it may be hard to believe, each and every day since August 31 has been filled with so much activity that I literally haven't had the time to sit down and create one.  But, today is another day and the chilly Richmond weather has given me a chance to snuggle up under a blanket while visiting some favorite (dare I say 'old'), college friends and get this darn thing started...

For those of you who need a little background:   After an amazing 11+ years at Intuit I decided to take some take off to travel, connect with friends & family and dedicate the majority of my time & energy to my health and well-being.  It took a lot of soul-searching to get to this decision, but the past 5 weeks have proven it was absolutely the right move.  I have never felt so free, exhilarated and energized in my life!  What a gift to give myself at this point in my life.  :)

I kicked-off my self-imposed sabbatical with a trip to Europe.  I'll do an individual post about the trip with photos later, but for the purpose of this post - - - I went to the South of France (with day trips to Italy and Monaco), Croatia and Portugal.  It was a great trip with friends and just want I needed to decompress, disconnect from technology and get the ball rolling on this new chapter of my life.

After getting back to Atlanta at the end of September, I knocked a few items off my long overdue "errand" list before getting in the car for a 7-week road trip up the east coast.  I am one week into the road trip and am having a blast connecting with college friends and getting quality time with people I haven't been able to spend one-on-one time with very often in recent years.  So fun!

Logan and Gavin are getting off the bus as I write this, so I must go with Wendy to meet them at the corner.  More posts later this week...
